This mother's day, you can honor the special lady in your life in a way that gives back: by sponsoring a special Tree House mother cat.
Virginia, a beautiful dilute calico, has been through a lot. Taken from her colony, brought to Animal Care and Control and labeled feral, Virginia was at risk for immediate euthanasia. Tree House became aware of her situation on her last day, and we rushed to pull her before it was too late. Luckily, we were able to transfer her that night to our BDVM clinic. But when clinic staff arrived in the morning, they didn't just find Virginia; they found her five newborn kittens, too!
We reached out to one of our experienced foster parents, who happily agreed to foster the new family. Mom and kittens are all doing very well. Though initially quite guarded, she has seemed more and more at ease indoors and near people. Virginia has come so far in such a short time, and this year she is our mother of honor. You can honor the mother in your life by making a donation in her name. To sponsor Virginia, please visit treehouseanimals.org/mothersday
