HALF THE LENGTH, TWICE THE EXCITEMENT!
A 75-minute re-edit of Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof!
I decided to do this after being disappointed by both versions of Tarantino's original film and, like the director, I feel that it's his worst effort so far. However, I also thought that Death Proof could be greatly improved by some major edits and a shorter running length.
At 75 minutes, Death Proof now seems more brutal, taut and exciting. Kurt Russell's performance as Stuntman Mike also comes to the forefront and Zoe Bell, fantastic as her stunt-work is, seems less annoying.
For this edit, I've cut out all of the unnecessary "character development" and dialogue scenes, including the opening credits and the first 20 minutes of the film. I’ve also changed the order slightly, added some text, restored Arlene's lap dance sequence and excised Stuntman Mike's death.
If you have any thoughts about this re-edit, please let me know in the comment section below!
