Bumpin is an epic exploration into the weaving of lights. Coral Short brings her textiles background into the realm of video art with lights emanating from The Reeperbahn which is a street in Hamburg's St. Pauli district - the city's red-light district. In German it is also sometimes described as die sündige Meile (the sinful mile). There are only 4 other current "sin cities" in Europe: Soho/London, Ibiza, Prague, Czech, and Amsterdam. This film is a celebration of the lights, history and geography of this area which has been around since 1620. In 1967, Europe's largest brothel at the time, the six-floor Eros Center, was opened on the Reeperbahn. It was closed in the late 1980s amidst the AIDS scare.
