I filmed this on a lark, walking home from seeing the musical RENT on 41st Street, down 8th avenue ... it was raining and FREEZING, but I was so happy.

  • I like your stuff because you're not shy about holding a camera out in front of you. Most people would be self conscious about walking around town and pointing a camera at themselves. You Julia?.....no... :)
  • Julia Allison 6 months ago
Yeah, I have no shame ;)

i was thinking the same thing! haha thats what makes these kinds of videos so awesome

I was thinking the same thing. I have to film myself doing some work around town and I get embarrassed as hell.

so happy to see your new videos, adorable as ever! But I think you stole the beginning to Saturday Night Fever, or should I say "borrowed".

    1) This is totally awesome. At times, it almost looks professionally lit.
    2) All "lip dubs" should be self-shot, unless absolutely impossible.
    3) Good hair day.

Julia, I just registered to comment on the terrific feel of this vid...VERY New York. The B-way adrenaline, the night chill, the sweetness of tobacco as you pass by the bars,, the city lights, like stars as they pierce through watery eyes, all the usual strangers...and that building drama of Journey's DSB that can literally lift your feet off of the pavement...all resulting in a happy moment in time.
Great job, I think you're on to something!

Very cool video! Do you connect your ipod to the cam or do you edit and insert the song later? I like the way you shot this. Kinda like those 80s music videos :)

That was amazing. Sometimes things done on a whim are better than anything you prepare for. Got me in a better mood. Thanks.

I love that you do these. I think this is the best one. The way some of the things spontaneously came together in timing with the song is a nice effect. It's always fun :) A beautiful woman makes videos of herself being beautiful and having fun... ain't nothing wrong with that. I saw the shot of the Playwright Tavern, that place did a number on me a few years ago.

That's some rockin' good music there, and Journey should pay YOU for doing such a wonderful tribute to their song.

Mindblowingly awesome.... You are my new celebrity crush. I'm a big fan of your work. Your attention to detail, backdrops and timing are insane. (What kind of camera are you using? the quality is suprisingly good) In my opinion, your next career step is to get a band and sing your own songs.. by the way, Jakob is a very lucky guy.
