The Road Toward Palestinian Self-Determination in Development

How can Palestinians achieve self-determination in development if they don't control their own resources? Palestinian community foundation, Dalia Association (www.dalia.ps) shows how small, unrestricted grants help communities focus on their priorities and build skills and credibility to increase impact. They show how civil society groups can be accountable to their communities and inspire giving from local, private sector and diaspora givers. Increasing local control over development resources decreases dependence on international aid and also empowers Palestinians to hold international aid actors accountable for responding to local priorities and respecting Palestinian rights.
