Nice milky way and meteors - and the silhouettes really enhance the effect. Where were these scenes shot? Must be away from city lights, for sure.

Some were shot an hour or two away from the city in Canada Toronto and others I shot in NY Adirondacs park. With low horizon shots you really have to be as far away from the city as possible. But the light glow pollution in the distance can sometimes add and create a unique effect as well.

    Perfect exposures & inspiring.

    what lenses?
  •
  • Chris Mierzwinski plus 2 years ago
I used all sorts of lenses here. In most cases not the ones i wanted. for the next one though. :) Here i used 28mm 1.8, 50mm 1.8, 24-105mm f4, 24mm 1.4, and a few others. Not in any particular order the 24mm was used only once but on a cropped camera without any moon light so not so hot on the noise.

I love shooting night timelapses the most. Yesterday I went out again, the meteor shower was nuts!! Planning a cool project for later next spring in California.
    Thanks for the kind words.

Hey! I'm collecting some footage here and there! I'll post my latest once I get some true editing software. What did you use?

Congrats on shooting with Tom! Your picture is up on his Flickr page!

I used AE for raw to clip conversion and FCP for editing. The behind the scenes photos and timelapse clips are as interesting in many cases. It's heartbreaking and funny if and when we have a technical meltdown and seeing the TL of that. fingers crossed there will be few and far apart.

    Have a good one Timelapsing!!

Your timelapse work is amazing ! Some shots looks unreal, we never see the night sky like this. Thanks for the travel !

Thanks Christophe. That is a certain reality about our world. One has to travel somewhere, and nowhere.
