Low res video. There's nothing like it. My computer can smack it up, flip it, rub it down [oh no!] faster than my sister could change directories in Dos 2.0.

I busted out my old first generation helmet cam and coupled it together with a surveillance recorder and hit the local airways for a tiny bit of Pioneering and a whole lotta fun on the prettiest day of the year thus far in 2009. (The famous spot where all bush pilots come just to get down.)

Back to the video:
First I had to check the audio. Vocals are important in a helmet cam. It was my own rendition of a Springsteen classic.

Then off 'we' go, past the pipeline that's making it across the country (from Colorado and beyond)--much more on that subject one of these days.

I landed on the smoothest field at my parents place -- as seen last winter in "Go Home". The weeds are high, so i flip off the mags at the end to save the propeller. That strip is now called "Pheobe's Grave" for the first Swingle killed on the land (1823). She was killed riding a horse in her early twenties and is buried directly behind where I landed up on top of the hill.

Before that landing, I was headed to my buddy Davy's cow pasture (hill) when I spotted his truck in my parents driveway, so i popped in to Pheobe's first...

-Swapped info with Davy and mi familia, decided flying was going to be more fun than watching them butcher animals, and continued as detailed on my flight plan to Davy's place.

After the quick "pioneering" fix was satiated, it was off to run the "gauntlet" at Mr. Graham's Apocalyptic Aviation Paradise where I played with shadows.

Enjoy the lovely "Y-Bridge" and picturesque downtown Zanesville, Ohio on the way back home at dark. The sun went down to the right and the near full moon was already up on the left.
