‘If you could influence Government to take action on one issue to improve the lives of women and girls, what would it be?’
Rebecca Stephens was the first British woman to climb mount Everest (in 1993) and went on to become the first English-speaking woman to climb the highest peaks on each of the seven continents -- North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australasia, Africa and Antarctica. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Summits). As a consequence she became famous world-wide and is now a sought-after motivational speaker. She also leads team-building treks to mountains like Kilimanjaro.
Rebecca is one of the judges in the inaugural National Council of Women #SpeakOut Giving young women and girls a voice competition, 2013. She tells us that we only have one precious wild life to live and should go for the opportunities that present themselves -- such as entering this competition.
