Evergreen is an interactive installation where a physical control board is used to interact with a virtual ecosystem to grow a tree.
The project is an experiment with alternative input methods and balance in the natural environment.

Evergreen was developed over four months for the Design Studio 3 course instructed by James Acres. The course is part of the Interactive Multimedia and Design program offered by Carleton University and Algonquin College in Ottawa.

The ecosystem simulation uses the openFrameworks toolkit openframeworks.cc.
The physical controls use Arduino boards for communication, sensor input, and display output arduino.cc.
