In April 20, 2004 the communities of Granville and Utica, Illinois were devastated by a damaging tornado. This event was part of a tornado outbreak that hit the Upper Midwest on that fateful Tuesday afternoon. Unfortunately 8 lives were lost in the Village of Utica as they sought shelter at the Milestone Tap. Albert Pietrycha and Jon Davies have excellent web pages that decribe the meteorological conditions leading up to this event. stormeyes.org/pietrycha/040420/summary.html
