Seven artists and one developer flew into Amsterdam from all over the world to meet for one week for the Preproduction Workshop for project Durian.

This is a rough and overlong edit of some of the footage we shot throughout the week.

Exactly why I pre-purchased the DVD, we will be able to see elements of production along the way and find out exactly how the cogs move on the machine known as Durian.

I would like to work with Ton some day in the future, but it is really hard to understand him! :P

@Ton: I only just recently understood how projector screens work. They're a lot like the cord that is on blinds, so it depends on the angle you pull it at. Pulling forward makes the screen catch on a little rolling toothed wheel, and pulling straight down releases it from that wheel.

Yes, I have found that the hair physics simulation is very painful. I tried to use it for a very short animation, but I had a lot of issues with it. (going though the head.) Besides that, I highly recommend implementing a Colorband-like weight system for the hair - because manually painting the hair for a head is painful work. :) But thanks for Blender, and I look forward to new improvements!!! :D
