PowerGames (At the Outskirts of Town)

This animation takes its reference from an incident: The UEFA Championship League Final took place in Ikitelli Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul in May 2005. On the day of the match, the neighbourhoods situated right across the stadium suffered a severe power cut. The power came back only 2 hours after the game was over. The animation transforms the irony of this particular event into a visual metaphor.

“Güç Oyunlari” (2009) animasyonunun çikis noktasi, 2005 sampiyonlar Ligi Final Maçi’nin oynandigi Ikitelli Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadi'nin çevresindeki mahallelerde, maç günü boyunca elektriklerin kesilmesidir. Maç bittikten iki saat sonra, elektrik kesintisi de biter. Animasyon, gerçek bir olayin ironisini tasiyarak, metaforik bir biçimsellige aktarir.
