A recent news article covering a change in concept of traffic management. Each driver is responsible for navigating safely through the intersections and roadways, including the safety of other road users, bicyclists, walkers, and other motor vehicle operators.
One comment in this video references "responsibility" which cannot be overemphasized, in my opinion.
Another aspect of this type of road treatment is that it requires that each road user devote proper attention to operating on the roadway. There is no room for texting, cell phone use, shaving, eating, reading, etc.
