This is the last day the carnival is in town and I really wanted to get some aerial footage before they break it down. Was a beautiful day--a little breezy, but not too bad. Great flying conditions. I think the result is one of the best flights I've had so far. Felt really good about my equipment. I flew out about 1km and back before passing overhead the carnival, just to make sure everything was in working order.
After I landed, a ranger came over and, smiling, said that was "totally cool" but maybe I should wait until the carnival was gone before I few in that area again. He asked some questions about the gear. I let him look in the goggles and he was impressed. All in all, a good encounter. Of course, I was 100% confident in the Penguin, but he was worried about it going down in the middle of the carnival. I would put it in the trees before I let that happen.
