Every community water system is encouraged to be proactive and develop a source water protection plan to enhance the reliability and sustainability of the sources they rely upon.

Pennsylvania's Safe Drinking Water regulations direct public water suppliers to find and utilize the best sources available and take measures necessary to protect those sources by defining wellhead protection, setting permitting requirements for groundwater resources, and setting forth requirements for state approval of local Source Water Protection programs.

Unfortunately, because the Source Water Protection program is voluntary, far too few PA DEP-approved Sourcewater Protection Plans are in place. Click the link at the end of the video to find out how you community stacks up.
