Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV)
“Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That”
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV)
****CHARACTER IS WHAT HOLDS YOUR DESTINY, NOT DESTINY HOLD YOUR CHARACTER
WHAT DOES FAVOR DO?
1. FAVOR IS FOUND IN THE PRESENCE OF THE FATHER
Now Jacob dwelt in the land where his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan. 2 This is the history of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brothers. And the lad was with the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives; and Joseph brought a bad report of them to his father.3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors. 4 But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peaceably to him. – GENESIS 37:1-4 (NKJV)
• FAVOR IS LOST IN PRIDE
• FAVOR IS REGAINED WHEN GOD CAN TRUST YOU WITH WHAT HE HAS GIVEN YOU
2. IMPURITY DOES NOT BEGIN IN THE HEART, IT BEGINS IN THE EYE
And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.”8 But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand. 9 There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”10 So it was, as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her.11 But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside, 12 that she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside. – GENESIS 39:7-12 (NKJV)
****LOOKING LEADS TO LUSTING, THE DEVIL SAYS LOOK BUT DON’T TOUCH…WHEN YOU LOOK YOU WILL TOUCH!
I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;
I hate the work of those who fall away;
It shall not cling to me. – Psalms 101:3 (NKJV)
But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.- Matthew 5:28 (NKJV)
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
Only Three Types of INIQUITIES:
1. LUST of the flesh
2. LUST of the eyes
3. PRIDE of life
3. IMPURITY WILL AFFECT YOUR FAMILY
Then it happened one evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to behold. – 2 Samuel 11:2 (NKJV)
After this Absalom the son of David had a lovely sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her. 2 Amnon was so distressed over his sister Tamar that he became sick; for she was a virgin. And it was improper for Amnon to do anything to her. 3 But Amnon had a friend whose name was Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother. Now Jonadab was a very crafty man. – 2 Samuel 13:1-3 (NKJV)
Sin vs. Iniquity
you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. - Exodus 20:5-6 (NKJV)
1. INIQUITY [SPIRIT] = Lust in the heart; the ROOT of Sin in the spirit man
2. SIN [SOUL] = Is the pre-meditated CHOICE that leads to Transgression
3. TRANSGRESSION [BODY] = Physical Action (Stepping over the Line) “Trespass”
*** Iniquity is the INWARD Motivation; Sin is the OUTWARD Movement,
Sin is the INNER Movement, Transgression is the OUTWARD ACTION.
Iniquity is the ATTITUDE or lustful desire of the Heart [Spirit]
But He was wounded (OUTWARD) for our TRANSGRESSION (COMMIT SIN), He was bruised (INWARD) for our INIQUITIES (LUST OF HEART); The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. – Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)
