The Yellow River basin has long been seen as the cradle of Chinese Civilization. This film explores life along the river's banks as well the rivers many environmental problems.The film begins in Qinghai Province on the Tibetan Plateau and follows Tibetan nomads through sand storms and barren landscapes to the the source of the Yellow river. The film then follows the coarse of the river through Ninxia, Lanzhou, Shanxi and Henan Provinces and ends at the mouth of the river in Shandong Province.
