Interested in what Google Maps for Business offers utilities? Join this conversation, which features case studies from several utility companies, including Ergon Energy in Australia.
In this webinar, you will learn how Google Maps for Business helps utilities improve outage management, emergency management and maintenance/repair services. Discussion points will include:
Accelerating outage response and restoration
Improving regulatory and environmental compliance
More efficiently organizing a mobile workforce
The Ergon Energy case study will describe how the company used Google Maps Engine to map the entire network of 150,000km of poles and wires across Queensland, Australia. Mapping included use of light plans and helicopters to produce high-quality images of vegetation growth, which were used to generate 3D models used to guide the pruning program. The application allowed the company to save close to $59 million in Australian dollars.
Google’s Scott Bridges will lead the discussion. Scott is a 17-year veteran of the GIS industry. Having spent time at Intergraph and Autodesk before joining Google as utility vertical manager, Scott has worked with utility companies and other large organizations to help them leverage and integrate geospatial data into their daily business practices. Joining him will be geospatial enterprise sales manager Clinton Libbey. Before joining Google, Clinton was with the Bing Maps team at Microsoft and at Harvard Design and Mapping.
