These interviews were used to accompany a presentation I did on "Causes for Collisions Between Small Vehicles & Trucks." The presentation was part of my final project grade for a Transportation & Traffic Engineering class at F.I.U. taught by Dr. Shen. The course is a requisite for every Civil Engineering Major.
I have an interest in video editing so I decided to go all out on filming the video clips. This is the first time I've ever filmed "documentary" type footage using b-roll from a second camera at different angles.
The interviewee is my dad. He has almost thirty years experience as a general contractor, and consequentially, because construction involves a lot of mobile, over-sized vehicles, he also holds a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. So I thought, "who better to talk about collisions involving large vehicles and passenger cars than with a person who has experience avoiding (and being involved in) such accidents?"
I borrowed the equipment, so I don't remember the exact model numbers, but these are the cameras I used:
Main Camera: Canon Vixia Camcorder
Second Camera: Canon Rebel DSLR
And in Part 2, I used a clip shot from my GoPro Hero2 camera as I was commuting by bicycle to class.
I used Vegas Pro 11 for the editing.
