Standing on the National Mall, amid more than 3,300 makeshift grave markers, clergy from Newton, Conn., and across the country prayed and read the names of victims of gun violence. The 24-hour vigil was organized by Sojourners and PICO National Network. “More than 3,300 people have died as a result of gun violence since the tragedy in Newtown, and it’s past time for our leaders to act,” said the Rev. Michael McBride who leads PICO’s Lifelines to Healing Campaign
