The content of all that went before leads to this last lesson (in two video parts). DON'T shortchange the students and all the prior effort by rushing through or mis-phrasing elements of this segment. The class has seen what is the world they are growing into. They have recognized the need for friends to show their quality of friendship by giving advice as needed. All that remains is to draw out their existing knowledge of history and human behavior - while avoiding addition of figures who would evoke concepts of partisan politicking. Draw it out of them (harder for younger students - but doable from grades 4 and up) ... then link the ability for them to affect their own future safety in high-school and beyond to the quality of leaders they have in their midst. After that the motivation is there, the experience is accessible for teachers remind them of... and the dynamics of behavior among friends can shift.
