Our Wine Buff Mollie Battenhous is tasting: Chateau Roc de Levraut, Bordeaux Superior 2010
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab Franc and Merlot, with a lovely color: deep, bright cherry red. On the nose, it’s black currant, plum, black cherry, gravel, clay, also a little bit savory and herbal. On the palate, it’s very fruity, with bright black cherry, black currant, blackberry, a little bit of herbaciousness, with gravelly, earthy clay notes. This wine calls for proteins: chicken, or beef. An everyday wine, good for hamburgers, pizzas, steaks. It’s soft, silky, without much tannins.
