Chapter 2 – Mr. Foster’s Teenage Daughter
Written by Will Currie
Dean comps together his song while Will teachers the others his. Before the recording can begin, a major medical emergency is avoided with the help of some electrical tape. The group goes with “La’s “ instead of “Bap’s” and Will lays down his vocals. The falsettos are alive and strong.
NOVELS The Movie takes you inside a 24 hour marathon recording session at Chemical Sound with five of Canada’s top young pop musicians. Tokyo Police Club's Graham Wright, Will Currie of Will Currie and The Country French, and Luke Lalonde of Born Ruffians team up with Dean Marino of Tin Star Orphans and Jason Sadlowski of Chemical Sound to write, collaborate and record a 5 song EP in one day.
Heavily influenced by Wilco: I Am Trying To Break Your Heart and 6015 Willow, filmmaker Wade Vroom takes you through this unique creative process. Watch and listen as each musicians’ song evolves from an acoustic pitch to the other NOVELS members, into a fully realized collaborative recording.
