Dan Curtis, Producer-Director speaks about some of the challenges and decisions he faced when he created this award-winning mini-series for television. It was based upon the book of the same name by Herman Wouk.

Did Dan Curtis go too far in the graphic nature he showed this scene? Some people felt it was too much for network television. Others felt it was necessary if he were to accurately depict the horrors of the Holocaust. It is almost a damned if you do and damned if you don't decision he had to make. What is your opinion about the final decision he made? Was it offensive to you? Would there have been other ways, less graphic, that he could have conveyed the same message of what really happened?
