Awesome video and wicked song! Any more behind the scenes stuff other than the fact it was shot on the RED?

How did you guys create the top down birds eye view of the car?

@Everyone Thanks for all the comments! Its cool to see your work appreciated by fellow filmmakers.

@Jon S. Funny enough, the overhead shot was the first shot, in fact nothing had even been shot. I was scouting locations using google earth and realized, Who needs helicopters anymore? I wanted something that wasn't quite satellite footage and not a typical helicopter shot, so I took a still, I composed the shot in 3D using maya, modeled a rudimentary car, animated it, then textured and lit the scene. I wish I had more time to add things like dust and maybe some atmospherics. I will say I tried to do the scene in 2D using Shake, but the parallax was all wrong. Photogrammetry all the way ;)

Thanks again for the comments and interest. Cheers!

Amazing! the shot with the moth coming in frame sick. Great colors.

  • what i didnt like:
-the cast of the girl. personally would have preferred a platinum blonde
-oh and that the first gun shot wasnt synchro with the black screen, but maybe thats vimeo

    what i liked:
-the camera movement of the first shot when the music kicks in (the picture reminded me of Electroma by Daft Punk)
-the "dead" vocals when her shoe touches the ground
-the shot explanation in the end

    what i loved:
-the fact that this one shot was taken from google maps. dude youre awesome.
-the speed down of the first gas station shot, with the old man sitting there

    5/5 dude. loved it.
