Midwife Wiwi Mutmainah is living in Jakarta. Being as a midwife since 1965. Her career started from Puskesmas Kemayoran, Jakarta. Many interesting stories there, given the socio-economic conditions of people in Kemayoran classified as a poor community. She was awarded as the first pioneer of midwives in Indonesia in the 70's. The prize made her went to Singapore. Based on her experience as a midwife, she then often travel abroad, such as in some countries in Europe to attend the seminar or as a speaker.
At a later stage, Midwife Wiwi Mutmainah became a trainer, and then an advanced trainer and lastly as master trainers for training, such as the Prevention of Infection and Normal Delivery Care. She is also being a National Coach for Facilitative Supervision for Midwives Coordinator (MOH). She is also a researcher for Family Planning, collaboration with Indonesian University. There are so many interesting experiences during her career as a trainer, especially in Dili, East Timor and Papua.
Her proudest achievement is the creator of phantom deliveries. They are made from fiberglass and fabric. Phantom which she created was to improve the existing phantom which is not in accordance with the conditions during delivery. And she is the only only midwife who create a model of “manual-placenta,” and “uterus KBI / KBE.” Her efforts has made her flown to Vienna in 2002 for presentation.
