1. Meeting Of Important People //// Brittney Lane
2 years ago
Everything in this video was built out of cardboard. Promptly after shooting the set was destroyed and taken back to the recycling dumpsters from which they came. The set took two weeks to build with a schedule of eight hours a day with an average of five volunteers a day. The stop animation took about three weeks to complete.

Shot with a Cannon Mk II

I can put your mind at ease and let you know that almost all the cardboard was recycled. I cant account for 100%.

inspiring work. what did you shoot on?
  • thomglunt plus 2 years ago
Hey Andy, we shot on the mk2 with a zoom lens, I forget the mm range I think it was f2.3 also.
  • Andy J. Scott 2 years ago
Impressed! I thought it looked like mk2 but was questioning it because its so sharp/smooth. Most of the 5d stuff I see is too shallow/shaky. Again great work!

  • Reminds me a lot of The Science Of Sleep :)

This is terrific ! The song was great and your editing was perfect. How long did it take to create the cardboard city ?
  • thomglunt plus 2 years ago
Hey Micheal, It took over 2 weeks about 8 hours a day. We had an average of 5 people a day and a few buildings that didn't make it into the video.

i love it when something so simple (cardboard) can be used in so many ways and become something so complex... set + character. nicely done.

Brilliant video! I was searching vimeo for 'cardboard' to show some examples to my students of what you can do with such a basic resource – and your video has truly exceeded my expectations!!! We will be making a space music video out of cardboard this coming week, though having only one week to complete it it shan't be quite so elaborate and yours. Very inspiring...
