That's actually pretty good. Roughly the same as the Flip Mino (SD version).
  •
  • It's a bit shaky in the beginning but overall... quite good indeed!

Wow! The video quality is WAY better than what I expected! There seems to be a bit of shake, was that you Kevin?
Great dog by the way, cute and well-educated :)
  •
  • Can you do the same with the 3G to compare? ;)

It's a bit Shaky but just throw that in to iMovie and add video stabilization and your good to go. :)

    DESIGN FLAW BELOW

Note the click sound right at the end of the clip. That is from the sliding button used to end the recording of the video.

A bit of a design flaw from Apple and I hope that it's just temporary and only lasts as long as it takes to "wear in" the button.

    @Bangarang

Most video editors would just edit that out. No big deal.

God, Ursula is huge now. I remember when she looked like a stuffed toy. She's so cute. I want one!

The iPod Nano? Eh. I'm bitter that it isn't in the Touch. Besides, I have the 3GS so no need.

Although, had it been in the Touch, I would have considered it a lot more.

The irony is that I cant watch it directly from an iPhone or Touch - flash video on mimeo. I have to remote into my desktop from my iPhone.

Not good at all. The slightest shake from holding the device distorts the reality of the footage, an irreversible effect, not even image stabilization can fix it. There is occasional flickers in the lighting of the scene, frame rate is low, color balance is terrible, and compression quality is lower than most camera's at the same and lower prices. But what can you expect, it's Apple.
  • Vincent Groenewold plus 3 months ago
Mmm, very intelligent comment there. Just to remind you that this camera fits inside the iPod nano, as thin as its been since the previous version. Taking that into account, this is quite acceptable quality for something that small, only the better phone-cameras do better.
  • Lee Bryant plus 3 months ago
The flicker is the camera trying to auto expose the image correctly. With mixed lighting this is going to be impossible. The frame rate is 30p (29.97). I guess you mean shutter speed? I believe the camera sets it automatic to compensate for how much light is in the sensor.

The quality is better than most cell photos. I can't complain really. It's about as good as I thought it would be. It's fine for what it should be used for.
