I believe that Scientology is the same as Christianity, the same as Islam, the same as Judaism - all have hardcore followers.

Like all major religions, Scientology really needs a "Messiah" such as Jesus Christ, Mohammed, etc and I believe that, if anything, "Anonymous" will be that Messiah for Scientology - fighting against the "pyramid scheme" like scheme in regards to paying 10% of their income to join and, paying them to get people to join.

My own view is that, if you have a belief in a God, worship Him/Her however you wish but, don't try and force people to see things that they can't see.

I Agree!, Even If I don't Beleve/Agree with Scientology I have not right, nore does anyone else have the right to ripp them down.
However I will watch the Anonymous For two resons, One I find it really funny when people try to disscredit Religon Since it is impossible to do that, When it comes to faith Nothing Short of the Hand Of God(Or God's) Can change Or destroy ones faith.
Two It's gonna be fun to watch And to see how both sides react!
That will give us a true Vision Of Anonymous & Scientology.

As I under stand it they(anonyous) is not trying to destroy Scientology they are trying to destroy the leaders of scientology. Something about people be murdered and forced abortions. Their strong armed tatics agianst people whom question them. I agree with Weker One this is great entertainment. I go to youtube only to see this "war".

Yeah - Tom Cruise was laughing like a nut because he gets a fortune because of his placement at the top of Scientology!

Also, the reward for Anonymous, dead or alive, is so small and trivial compared to the money Scientology generates for it's leader in the pyramid scheme.

It'll be amusing to watch the organization try and deal with the "rogue[s]" since Scientology's beliefs will be made public and if there is fraud going on, it will be exposed! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I have been doing Scientology for over two years, it helped me deal with my anxiety which was really bad. I had done a lot of drugs in high school and would get drug flash backs that made me bipolar, I did the purification drug run down program that they offered... it took me a mouth to finish which was not easy. I am the happiest person in the world, I'm out going, I learned how to make everything in my life work. Basically what I'm trying to say is that people who bash on Scientology just don't know what it's about. What you hear on the news or read about in the magazines is not how is works they help you. I have to admit Tom Cruz is wried but all he is trying to doing is try to tell people that there is help out there and Scientology is there for you. Yeah it cost money but so does counseling, and trust me it helps more then a person that just will listen to you because there getting payed. I'm only 21 by the way.

Whitney - the reason why Scientology worked in your situation is the same reason that a lot of smokers become fat, from eating too much, when they [try] and give up.

It doesn't really mean that *they* helped you so much but, made you think about something else instead.

You sit in a sauna for up to for hours a day there not much they can make you think about. Besides when my mom told me about Scientology and the program, they wouldn't let me do it because she was making me. I had to come back a year later and tell them that I really wanted to do it. I watched my cousin go thought it first and he change a lot, it did him a lot of good. I just think you should get your facts straight before you dis on something you have no idea about. Its not a religion by the way, you can be Jewish and do Scientology. And L. Ron Hubbard is not their god.

Wow guys, thanks so much for contributing to the discussion. I've been reading a lot of the comments here and on the forums at epic-fu and I have to say I feel like I've learned a lot and have gotten to hear different perspectives. thanks. I do wish I would have heard from more scientologists though...

Hi, im like, 2 months late, but i thought i'd still add a little 'official' information.

Anon, short for anonymous, does not oppose the religious beliefs, or the church itself. Only the criminal activities, the harassment and suing of critics, the disconnection policy that destroys families, the fees for something that should be free and is instead used for self-enrichment and power (they need all the private detectives and lawyers for us critics, ex-members, etc).

There are in fact religious groups that are a split off scientology, these practice the exact same thing, just not the harmful part of it, and do not charge money for anything. We recognize them as a religion. But Scientology as it is today, is simply a dangerous cult. It's very hard, and sometimes even impossible to get out of, so i've been told by an ex member first-hand

The main point that some people that are into other religions are sometimes not getting is that scientology is not a religion, it's a cult that poses as a religion.
