HOW in the world did you make this beautiful piece
  •
  • Cnes 2 years ago
cool. i am thinking you used one of those 3d lenses on your camera. then edited them together as one piece. Or one frame left view next frame right view.?

What made you decide to do it in this kind of 3d as opposed to a more conventional anaglyph? Don't get me wrong, I think it's pretty darn nifty. I'm just wondering whether it was an artistic decision or a technical one.

Also, if you don't mind a little critique, I think it would be a little easier on the eyes and perhaps even have a better 3d effect if you used a smaller than normal stereo separation. Some of the shots had more of a strobing effect in the background rather than a 3d effect.

All in all, though, I really liked it, and some of the shots had a surprisingly strong 3d effect.

    absolutely beautifull! great stereoscope!

  • thanks everyone! I'm really happy that so many people like this!
we did this with a two hd-cam package handheld & mounted on a dolly rolling with 50p. too bad the whole thing was not as easy as it sounds and involved a lot of testing and post production...

we did not make a conventional 3D video because we wanted to do something new and never been done before and it kinda made sense for the song.

so you just went back and forth between clips that each camera took

thats totally outrageous! i would love to see the workflow you had for that piece and know more about how you did that. The 3D was incredible! The woman walking in the woods looked like i was looking into a box and she was inside of it!

Saw this idea about a year ago and never thought to use it in a video! Good on ya!

Here's a similar idea done with slide photography.

As a kid I used to try to create this effect with my eyes, by opening and closing them as fast as possible, alternating left and right. It's nice to see it now in a video, thanks to your hard work.

Amazing. I love how the vibrato of the singers voice matches the movement.

Wow, I just did a 3D video of my own so I know how hard it is to mount and execute everything. Brilliant idea switching back and forth!
