+Ducktails: 'Beach Point Pleasant'
*Headphones (or decent speakers) are recommended for this video.
Filmed in one continuous shot on September 10, 2009 at Ash's Place in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. All visual effects (fingers, shaking) were done in the camera, as I was shooting.
Mondanile's warm textures are universally seasonal; whether hangin' at a friend's bbq during the peak of July's warmth, or comfortably seated in your favorite spot of the house with books aplenty during old man winter's welcoming chill, his organic music fits every possible atmosphere. When I was on stage with him, I couldn't help but feel like we were creating something familial together...something the seasons (and our friends) could benefit from. This is easily one of my favorite videos to date, despite the [ehh] sound quality.

"By now I’m sure Ray Concepcion is a familiar-ish, household name. If not, then watch this video and familiarize yourself with the dude’s dreamcicle visual styling, a genuinely perfect fit for Ducktails‘ beautiful guitar bliss-outs."

"Here's a video of a recent Ducktails performance on the heels of the release of his latest full-length Landscapes. The solo moniker of Rising group Real Estate's guitarist Matthew Mondanile, Ducktails enthralls a small audience with the gentle, winding waltz of "Beach Point Pleasant". If you missed it, we also have the songs "Wishes" and "Parasailing" for your listening leasure. By the way, is there anyone out there doing live performance vids better than the man behind this clip, Ray Concepcion? We don't think so."
