Diving at Catalina, Sept 2009

Scuba diving trip on the Great Escape, Day 2 at Catalina Island, Channel Islands, California
We did a deep dive on Little Farnsworth where divers were greeted by huge schools of blacksmiths and perch, a giant black sea bass, dozens of other colorful fish like garibaldi, sheepheads, kelp bass, island kelpfish, painted greenling, and nudibranchs. Water was in the upper 50s below the thermocline, and vis was only 20-40'.

Enjoyed the video.
On this dive the bass swam right up behind me while I was shooting the nudie, and watched over my shoulder. I never saw him but several other divers on the boat did, and wouldn't let me forget it the rest of the day!
I tend to do only tropical now, but I too would enjoy getting some good head-on HD BSB footage.
