    Neat. I always liked snails.

Its cool to see the details you don't normally catch in this speed, like the fast head swing back and forth, and the little wave looking ripple underneath its shell as it moves.....
  • Chase Rees 2 years ago
For a creature that moves so slow they sure do a lot to get somewhere sometimes.

How did you achieve the slow pans?
  •
  • niltonb 2 years ago
That was awesome! Though with regards to the first poster's question I'm sure you're playing much faster than 1fps... its very smooth.
  • His camera is capturing 1 frame per real time second and once he brings it into his editing program he tells it to play either 25 or 30 frames per second, thus condensing the original footage so it plays back all the frames 25 or 30 times faster than real time.

Awesome video and great subject matter for time-lapse!! I have never seen so many slugs grouped together before. It must be cool to have eyes that stick out so far.
  • Chase Rees 2 years ago
I get a lot of them when it rains. I always wanted to do it so....

Guess what? I have seen some great videos on vimeo, but that was the one of the most enjoyable so far :-) Very clever, very well done.

Reminds me of my very first test timelapse I did when I first got my Canon G6. I set the camera up looking out at the garden, and accidentally ended-up capturing a number of snails and slugs, as they apparently zipped around the garden path.

This is done much better though!

Really nice work, keep it up.

Lovely DOF, macro and colour settings, and a lovely subject too. Just a bit of fun, perhaps, but a work of art too.

This is majestic brotha. I've show this to about 30 people and they all go nuts for it.

I really like the slow zooms and pans. After Effects or just pan and scan in the frame area?
