Shoebox camera / DIY 35mm adapter
I was inspired by Remyyy's shoebox video: vimeo.com/641809 and decided to try something similar myself.
My recipe:
1 Shoebox (some tape / scissors / rubber band)
1 Piece of baking paper
2 Paper clips (to hold baking paper in place)
1 Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens
1 Canon HG10 camcorder
1 Large portion of patience
The shoebox was shortened (14cm long).
This is just test footage. The weather is really bad at the moment, so this is indoors (at night) with artificial light only.
I used the Program setting at 25fps (25p PAL) - manual focus (to keep focus on baking paper).
Footage recorded upside-down and flipped in edit. Nothing else done in edit. Exported as DivX file at 5000kbps (1280x720) HD.

I used very sticky 'black tape'. I don't know if it has a more technical name, but black and sticky it was.
I used my Canon 50mm f/1.8 II lens which is mostly plastic and very lightweight. If you use a heavy lens, you might want to add an extra 'wall' inside the box and make a hole in that wall. With the hole in the box and a hole in the extra wall, it should be fixed in place by just pushing it through both holes.
Hope that helps...
Cheers, Rico.
I was thinking of using the lens adapter side of this:
tinyurl.com/5pes9p to make the front end of my box. (He has cannon extension tubes too) I have a 50 f1.4 Nikon and a 28 f2.8 that I want to try with it - will report back to the channel soon!
