This is a 44 minute POV video captured with the iphone 3GS of the Improv Everywhere Mp3 Experiment in Vienna, Austria, on the 12 of September 2009, conducted as part of the paraflows.at Hacking Conference. The action started at sundown and the iphone isnt the best in low light situations, so the last ten minutes are on the dark side. Since it is 44 mins long, i had to reduce it to 320x240 to keep it under the 500mb upload limit, but the quality is ok.

This crowd-action was designed by Charlie Todd, the founder of Improv Everywhere, and he is often in the video.

Participants were told the following:

Instructions:
1. Download the Mp3: Download Page (Right click and save the link. If you just click on the link it will start playing in your browser. Spoilers!)

Note: The filename for the track is “mp3_experiment.mp3″ and the album, artist, and track name will be “Mp3 Experiment.”

2. Load the track onto your mp3 player (iPod, etc.)

3. Do not listen to the track.

4. On Saturday, wear a t-shirt that is one of the following colors: Red, Blue, Yellow, or Green.

5. Bring an uninflated balloon. (Any kind of balloon that can be blown up.)

6. Bring a watch with a second hand (or use your cell phone if it displays seconds.) Before you leave, sync it up to this atomic clock:

7. As 7:00 approaches, take a seat anywhere in the main courtyard of museumsquartier.

8. At exactly 7:00:00, press play.
