This is a test on doing 3D head tracking with no markers. Using PFTrack 5.0, I could import a rough lowpoly OBJ of a face, and the tracker could solve for position and rotation of the OBJ model. This allows for lots of possibilities to add CG displays, wearable CG attachments, and so on. A simple bent CG element was attached to the tracked head and the display texture was created using Particle Illusion's Graphic elements mapped onto the CG "view screen"... which was animated to scale and warp as he moves his head. Compositing was done in Combustion and final grading done using Colorista in Combustion.
The footage was shot in my house using the HV20+ JAG35 DOF adapter and a 50mm f1.4 lens
