The Okmulgee Healthy Lifestyles Committee (sub-committee of the Okmulgee County Wellness Coalition) created a project (plant a 6-pack) in which every 4th grader in Okmulgee County will receive a 6-pack of vegetable plants. The reason for this is to try to get kids to eat more fruits and vegetables and Dr. Ed Osborn thought that if students were to grow their own vegetables they would be more likely to try them. Bob Seebeck has been in charge of the greenhouse and planted over 4000 vegetable seeds that are now plants that are large enough to transplant into a garden bed. This video gives instructions on how to plant the vegetable plants that were given to the students.
