I wrote a tiny little script to help simulate the D and V hotkeys in Maya, for Modo. What the D key does in Maya, is lets you see the pivot point (the center for all actions you complete, in Modo, they are simply called Action Centers), then the V key lets you snap to vertices. So in Modo by default there is no tool to automatically do this, it does of course have the tools to do it and a way to make it happen through scripts (or a macro in this case).
So that's what this script does, changes the action center to automatic (so where you click is where the action center goes), turns snapping on and set snapping to vertices (vertices, polygons and edges for their respective scripts of course).
Secondly, this video also shows how to run a script and bind a hotkey to it.
