Thanks, but no post stabilizing was done. The only changes I did to the image was a bit of punching in on certain shots and color grading.

Great song. Great quality slo-mo. Grading could have brightened overall a bit. And I didn't feel the story matched the song for me anyway. Still, better than I could have done.

sweet shots again. Is that the same singer from sunnyday real estate? Great color correction and shutter choice. What were the lenses you were using? how many days did you shoot?
  • ag 2 years ago
hi bill. yes, jeremy is the singer for sunny day real estate. we just used the angenieux 11.5-138mm 16mm. and we shot one day, for about 10 hours.

    thanks.

Beautiful work. I stop my day to be grateful for the beauty in ordinary life. That comes from real art.

It may sound trite, but it's majorly important to show more and varied images of young Afroamerican men.

Looks great, did you do your grading in color? The 2K footage is richer than I expected, what frame rates do you prefer on the Red?

Tried messing around w/ 2k in a studio environment and lost too much light to pull it off, daylight seems to be the way to go..

    well done

I don't really know what you were trying to get at, but it was beautiful nonetheless. It seemed to me a story about the dreams of the young and the restless, orphans of a city that they have called their own, and that in turn takes care of them.

I hoped the injury was somehow faked, but it was definitely added a facet to the film that I liked. The slow-motion made everything seemed fantasy like (I guess that's why it's called 'Mind Idea'), making it all that much better. As much as their skate-punk aesthetic pervades, your short seemed to portray their other qualities such as spirituality, comraderie, and creativity. Very interesting juxtaposition of the piano and Canon with the skate stunts and alleyway adventures.

    I loved it.
