'italigo', a quality fast-food restaurant, opened its doors one week ago. Its owners, Lou and Tom, want to produce beautiful, simple Italian food with only the best and freshest ingredients. Tom gave up his job at a top Cardiff restaurant, to look after the food and developing menus and new lines, while Lou has been using his managerial (as well as his plumbing and carpentry!) skills, to deal with all the multiple issues that have arisen since the start of the project one year ago. Fortunately, they received fantastic assistance from the BEST Centre in Butetown. There, Natalie Pillinger has been with them every step of the way, helping with their biggest headache: staff. Both the partners are full of praise for the help that they received, while the community benefitted through the creation of new local jobs.
