MICHIGAN MICHIGAN I MISS YOU TAKE ME TAKE ME TAKE ME!!!!

wouldn't it be something if this clip was 36 seconds long.
  • Charlie McCarthy 6 months ago
Thanks Karen, you don't wanna be in MI now it's too cold and nasty.

I was actually going to make this 36 seconds but I ended the music early before the vocals.
  • Stephen Niebauer 6 months ago
You're right. It is way too cold and nasty. I'm sick of it.
  • i figured as much chuck, you are all too smart and i know you all too well.

    California is calling you..

    "come hang out and play!"

  • Charlie McCarthy 6 months ago
I would love to go California, I just need to find the time and money. Actually I would love to get out of the house right now, I'm starting to get cabin fever.
  • you and your kiddies should build a blanket fort!!!!
  • Charlie McCarthy 6 months ago
I built one but they didn't know the password so they could not come in.
  • Hahahaha!!!!!

really amazing work...you have pulled off some staggering feats with this little camera

have you gone through the insanely complicated pulldown process or is this just 24p in a 60i timeline?
  • Charlie McCarthy 6 months ago
Thank you JL, I did shoot in 24p but I used cineform to remove pulldown, not very complicated.

What's creating that blur effect? Also how are you mounting your camera? Awesome!
  • Charlie McCarthy 6 months ago
Thanks, the blur was done with the light rays effect in Sony Vegas. I mounted the camera with a manfrotto 2929qr (I forgot to add the tag)

I like your art Charlie. You're regular additions keep me wanting more as a weekly subscriber. One thing I hate is how Americans and Europeans think people in big cities are the only cool people, when in fact big cities are magnets of trash. Your videos are a small-town feel yet cool.

    thank you Jeff

Really cool stuff... too bad it wasn't a little longer, I was just starting to get into it and then... your back home again
  • Charlie McCarthy 6 months ago
Thanks John, I wanted to make it longer but I am ran out of places to go.

Charlie is doing some stuff that nobody is doing. In 36 minutes he displays what he can and does it quite impressively.
  • Charlie McCarthy 6 months ago
    thank you.

Your videos ALWAYS make me wish I wasn't too damn busy to make more videos.

    Charlie..thanks for the videos!
  • Charlie McCarthy 5 months ago
Thanks Eric, I never have the time when I have something I want to shoot. But today I have nothing to do and I can't think of anything to shoot.
  • eric cwiertny 5 months ago
Just shoot the most boring thing you can think of and I'm sure it'll come out looking like art! You constantly amaze away with your bitchin' videos!

Nice work Charlie? How did you do this? Did you just speed up the video substansially and add the light ray effect (as you mentioned earlier).
  • Charlie McCarthy 5 months ago
Thank you, I used Sony Vegas and I made the original footage as fast as possible and rendered it, then I made the rendered clip as fast as I could again. Then I added the light ray effect.
  •
  • Dorowski 5 months ago
Hey, the light rays effect is fantastic. And nice choice of music: Tesko Suicide!
  • Charlie McCarthy 5 months ago
Thanks, I love this song but I had to end it before the lyrics started.

    represent the michigan crew.

i live in a small town in michigan but i go to school in detroit. i dont know which of the areas i like better, but i can say that northern michigan's forests, lakes and rivers, and everything that inhabits them are beautiful and at times breathtaking. we should collaborate for a project using michigan wilderness footage...seriously let me know if you're interested...
  • jacob 5 months ago
michigan is underrated. it is a state of both natural beauty and of industrial landmarks. plus robocop 3 was filmed in detroit.
  • Charlie McCarthy 5 months ago
I would love to do a collaboration. There so many beautiful places to shoot in Michigan. And thanks for reminding me, I forgot about Robocop 3.
