To help individuals connect to the Portland Art Museum on a more personal level, Fashionbuddha is helping elevate the interactive experience behind the Object Stories exhibit. Through this project, museum-goers can record their own stories about personal objects and add it to a collection of other narratives to literally become part of the Museum.
Our user-friendly touch screens guide participants through the experience, helping the institution become
more accessible and meaningful to a greater diversity of communities. Today, people continue to interact with the recording booth, listening station, and mobile app we designed and programmed. The success of Object stories has brought the exhibition’s technology into new spaces including the Native American Youth and Family Center in Portland and the Museo Nacional de San Carlos in Mexico City.
This year, Object Stories was the winner of the Arts Forward Innovation Award by popular vote of the Business Unusual Innovation Story Contest, receiving over 11,600 votes. Read the entire article at artsfwd.org/object-stories/
