Your video is quite fascinating. I felt the spirit of SF all over again ! The clouds are a major character of the city to me. And I have to say that the sight of planes' lights queueing to land is quite magical.

so many great shots in this. but oddly, the one that really caught my eye was the one showing the planes landing. the way they were turning in the air and then descending, one after another in high speed. kind of eerie for some reason, as if looking at an airport on another planet. great work!

The shot at 3:55 especially caught my eye. The contrast of the stars to the moonlight on the water was just amazing. Also overall this entire clip was a breathtaking piece of work. What camera did you use for this production?

how many shots are necessary for 1 minute time lapse...and do you correct the exposition manually during the day to adjust with tle light or the camera do this by itself ? do you use a modified firmware in the camera and use a specific software for the editing ?

    great job anyway......

May I ask what Lenses U used? Awesome stuff in this edit!
  •
  • Madnomad Films pro 2 years ago
Nice video for sure. I was wondering how you got to stay at your viewpoint for the Bay Bridge sequence for that long. Did you have to get an authorization or you just stayed there right above the Yerba Buena tunnel?
  •
  • Delrious plus 2 years ago
    Lenses used:

    Canon 50mm f1.4
    Canon 200mm f2.8L (+1.4 extender)
    Canon 400mm f5.6L (+2x extender)
    Canon 85mm f1.2L
    Canon 24mm f1.4L
    Sigma 12-24mm

There's a spot above the tunnel that is accessible from the streets. There are photographers there constantly. AFAIK the good spot that you see in all of the old portraits of SF is "off limits" now...

This sets the standard for time lapse in the Bay Area. I loved the fog over the San Bruno hills, the airplanes landing in Oakland. It is amazing what can be done with the 5D Mark II.

I love this SO MUCH! I especially -- no, "especially" is meaningless, but the footage of SFO at night (it was SFO, right?) -- WOW. Just WOW.

Dude, excellent - outstanding - work, really great stuff! I love the piece but if I could change anything I think you should have started with your stronger shots of the nighttime cars, the moon glow on water and airplane shots, those are totally off da hook and a casual viewer might not stick around long enough to catch those. Great work, I love it
  • Max 2 years ago
He is building up to those shots - also it transitions from day to night...
  • Boreal Sky plus 2 years ago
I realize that (day to night) but my experience with EPs at networks and producers, they want your juicy stuff up front. As I said, its all great stuff. This is art. But outside of Vimeo someone will want the money shots up front.

It would be nice if you could let us download the original file. I would love to watch this on our HDTV with my husband for example (via the Sony PS3).

BTW, when you reply, please use the "reply to this comment" instead of "post comment", otherwise the person you reply to never gets a notification email that you actually replied.
