Moving in one piece
Power and expressing it physically has as much to do with how to move and maintaining a dynamic alignment. This allows for the expression of force from you against something without being hurt by the force exerted back.
"For every action there is an equal an opposite reaction."
Newton’s 3 law.
A good example is Tai Chi practitioners who spend years working on perfecting the alignment for pushing against something and how to redistribute force so it does them no harm.
The more force you can exert the more important it is that the alignment is perfect. Otherwise the counter force is displayed somewhere it shouldn't be, if the force exerted is great enough the damage is immediate. However the worst injuries tend to be those that take years they wear down the cartilage and articulating structures.
This video uses common exercises and explains why we do them and how they must be done to exploit their true value.
