I just laugh. Microsoft is cracking. People didn't believe me when 10 years ago I said this very thing would happen. It takes time for the mass to realize that being in the majority isn't always as cushy as they absentmindedly believe it is.

Now look today, when on any given day you can read bad press - and even worse (for them) - hear the mutterings of pissed-off every-day users who are wondering why the most used OS from the largest software company in the world has to suck so bad.

I sense MS is quickly approaching the rapid descent mode. Each day brings another blunder.

Fair thee well, Microsoft, with all your Zuneness, IEness, Windows Product Registration messness, and >50% xbox ring-of-deathness. We'll miss you, kind of like the way the student misses the overzealous teacher who's too fun not to tease.

I'd say more like 25 years even though Microsoft is losing ground in almost every market they currently participate in.
