Fascination for unpredictable sound has led me to the idea of using an acoustic instrument for producing diverse sonic textures. Piano is especially capable of that. By exciting the strings in a certain manner I can control pitch, timbre, sustain and dynamics. The beautiful thing about playing the piano in this way is the result of the sound waves adding together and creating spectral and dynamic patterns that could hardly be synthesized digitally. It's an acoustic instrument that I hope doesn't sound like any other sound object.
