Stave Lake is a hydroelectric reservoir located north of Mission, about 65 km east of Vancouver, BC. It was created in 1920-1922 following construction of Stave Dam. The lake extends 20 km into Coastal Mountains allowing for exploration of remote glacier bays as well as many beaches. Paddling among standing cedar trees at the base of huge granite cliffs is particularly memorable. These images were taken during one day kayaking circumnavigation of the lake's main channel with my friend Kevin.
