Magic Lantern - 1080i while recording
Demonstrating on a SmallHD.com DP1 HDMI field monitor that the camera can remain in full 1080i HD while recording. This will be merged into the upcoming 0.1.7 release of the Magic Lantern firmware for the Canon 5D Mark II once the bugs that cause the flashing onscreen and in the file are worked out.

Or maybe once 7D will be shipped you could dump is firmware and take a look whats happening if you change frame rate and allow this on 5d and 500d ?
How big is the risk to brick camera if you would have 500d sent to you ?
in what format are the streaming??
and yes i think thats the point, bypassing the internal h264 compression and allowing recording of the uncompressed hdmi out -- using either a box like a Aja Ki Pro ( aja.com/products/ki-pro/ ) or on a computer with a black magic intensity blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/ -- though im really waiting for usb 3.0 to arrive - then full 1080i/p recording could be added to any machine with a small hdmi adapter/converter (eg even a laptop) for recording / editing in the field of near losses compressed (eg with pro res or similar) can be done!!
5d must be the best )
thank you so much for your work, you just made so many people very happy
IOHD do someting!!!!
Don't suppose you're thinking of buying a 7D anytime soon? I know thousands of people must be asking you this, but I'm sure that you put up a donations page offering to hack the 7D, then you'd have the funds in no time to buy one...
will pass after the images to 35mm film negative for theatrical prints ...
Olivier .
Then over/under-crank my man!!!
Keep it up! Thanks!
