The Black Diamond Quality Assurance team breaks hundreds of biners a year during the design and manufacturing process. This video illustrates the three different configurations we use when pull-testing our carabiners; closed gate, open gate and minor axis. In addition to batch tests like these every single carabiner is tested to one half of it's rated strength.
