The Athmar Park Branch Library received a grant from the Urban Arts Fund and has created an anti-graffiti-vandalism project this summer! The project is a graffiti art mural that says "Athmar Park Library" and features drawings based on the theme, "Knowledge is Power." Athmar Park neighborhood youth in grades 5 through 12 have created the mural themselves and have documented their experience with photos and video. The mural is hung on the south-facing wall of the Athmar Park Library as a permanent art installation!

Special thanks to Your Name In Graffiti, who helped with the mural, and Dona Laurita from Think 360 Arts, who brought innovative photography to the project!

The Athmar Park Library Urban Arts Fund Graffiti Mural Project documentary presentation and mural unveiling was held on August 19, 2009.
